Understanding the importance of appropriate regulation of emotions is an integral part of one's organizational life. The existing scenario of modern workplace involves frequent emotional outbursts in the forms of anger, distress etc. Literature shows that exhibition of inappropriate feelings and its positive relation with adoption of pessimistic attitude towards work life. As a result, occurrence of emotional distress further takes an internal toll on employees' cognitive health and wellbeing. Therefore, organizational psychologists in India are required to work upon professional handling of emotions on the job. This study examines the impact of emotional work on psychological wellbeing of employees. Using stratified random sampling 346 county employees were sampled using a crosssectional survey design. The participants were individually administered on Psychological well being scale and Frankfurt emotion work scale. Correlational analysis of data shows positive emotions, interactional control and sensitivity dimensions of emotion work are significantly positively related with psychological wellbeing followed by its negative association with negative emotions and emotional dissonance as dimensions of emotion work. Hierarchical multiple regressions analysis shows that emotion work as a strongest psychological predictor of psychological wellbeing. This study also highlights that psychological wellbeing as an important potential intrapersonal variable for the growth of an organization. Further implications of the study are discussed in the paper.Keywords

Health education as an approach of health promotion enhances positive health and prevents ill health in individuals and groups. Since the core element of health has changed from disease prevention to health protection and promotion, enhancing the psychological determinants of health is an important public health challenge. Personal and social factors have become core issues in determining the health of an individual. The present study investigates the impact of health education on Health behavior, Health locus of control & Social support among young adults. "Pre post with control" research design was adopted for this study. The sample consists of first year college students from Chennai city with the experimental group consisting of 38 students who received health education for a period of 3 months. 36 students were used as a control group. The Multidimensional health locus of control scale, Sense of support scale, and Health behaviour scale were administered. The collected data were analyzed using Analysis of Co Variance(ANCOVA). The results indicated that intervention group showed significant improvement in post and follow-up assessment on Health behavior, Sense of Support, and Internal health locus of control. This study has incorporated all the components of health promotion using physical, psychological, and social inputs into the health education.Keywords

Montessori Method of education focuses on students overall development. Montessori Method of education is designed not only to focus on academic skills of the students but also it gives importance for the development of the student's social and behavioral skills. Hence the present study aimed to assess the self-esteem and academic anxiety of students with Montessori and traditional method of education. It was hypothesized that the students of Montessori Method of education have higher self-esteem and lower academic anxiety compared to traditional method of education. In order to verify the above hypothesis a sample of 124 students were selected from the schools which offer education with Montessori (N=60) and traditional method (N=64). Tools used for the study were the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Academic Anxiety Scale for Children developed by Singh and Sen Gupta. The collected data were subjected to `t` analysis and the major findings of the study revealed that the students of Montessori Method of education has significantly higher self-esteem and significantly lower academic anxiety compared to traditional school students.Keywords
